Experience

James Utley has a Master degree in Earth Science, and 18 years experience operating an X-Ray Diffraction laboratory in an academic setting, from initial lab setup right through to publication ready interpretations.

James has worked with industry partners to problem solve lab processes, and improve mineral identification and quantification.

James has also operated an automated SEM-EDS laboratory (Qemscan), preparing samples, acquiring data, and custom building SIP lists for mineral identification. This experience is particularly useful when integrating XRD and SEM-EDS data.
